Day 4: Crossover to the Turkish side (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) to Kyrenia/Gime

Visit Bellapaix Abby and the St. Hilarion Castle. The Castle is situated on a hill and will require some strength to climb after you park.

LODGING

I stayed with a friend in Nicosia and did day trips around the Island.

TRANSPORTATION

To go into the Troodos Mountains, it is best to have your own transportation.

From Nicosia to Limasol, Larnaca, and other big cities there are regularly scheduled buses. See these websites for info:

FOOD

Kebabs were delicious cheap options that you can get anywhere. You can find small hor d’oeuvre-like flaky pastries at  bakeries filled with cheese, olives, tomatoes that were pretty amazing. And of course you will need to have a sit down meal somewhere and order a meze.
